LogMD is web-based software designed to meet the requirement that all Anesthesia physicians keep track of the cases they perform throughout the course of their training program.

Traditionally, this experience was collected in paper format and was of limited use. LogMD was developed to enhance the collection of this data in more complex and complete ways by taking advantage of current and emerging technologies, in particular iPhones and similar smartphone devices.

LogMD can be accessed on a 24/7 basis 365 days of the year to accommodate a medical physician challenging schedule. Physicians can at their convenience enter their cases from any web accessible computer, iPhone (or smart phone device directly to a secure website).

Clinical procedures are recorded quickly, in an intuitive manner, and aggregated to compare training experience with other residents at the program and national level. Program Directors can also view monthly reports on each resident’s experience ensuring that each physician is offered a balanced and complete training opportunity.

LogMD is also able to provide feedback to medical staff through the Staff Evaluation feature of the program. Residents can record their observations and opinions anonymously for the purpose of providing meaningful feedback to educators.

LogMD created by Cissec Corporation, for the Association of Canadian University Departments of Anesthesia, (ACUDA), is used in 17 teaching institutions and their affiliated hospitals across the country. The logbook can be customized to address any clinical discipline’s specific needs.
